All Meets

Bullpen Team

A fun, high energy position making sure children are lined up according to the events and heats that they will be swimming; and ensuring that each child knows the event and stroke they are swimming.

Finish Judge Team

Sit at the side of either end of the pool, with a finish judge from the opposing team, to determine and record the place of each swimmer at the finish of each race. 

Timer Team 

Time swimmers using stopwatch, accurately record time on pink/blue ticket and pass it to runners after each event. 

Runners Team 

Pick up time tickets from timers and corresponding place "tickets" from the finish judges and deliver to the Score Table after each event.  Requires repeatedly walking the length of the pool to retrieve and deliver slips.

Home Meets Only

Set-up Team 

Start set-up at 3:00pm on the day of the meet.  Arrange all equipment for the meet including starting blocks, backstroke flags, chairs, bullpens, walkways, sound system, and lights. Putting out parking signs.  Requires lifting and takes 1 – 1 ½ hours.

Concessions Team 

First shift volunteers arrive at 4:30 pm to set up concession stand and assist with concessions through the first half of the meet.   Second shift volunteers assist with concessions through the second half of the meet and then stay to clean up the concession area at the end of the meet.

Clean-up Team

Put away all equipment used in the meet.  Replace the diving boards, return deck furniture to normal configuration, and hose down the deck.  Remove "NO Parking" signs from the street.  Place trash at end of sidewalk for pick up in the morning. (Takes approximately 1 hour after meet.)

Home Meet Hostess: 

Hand out bottles of water to volunteers the middle of the first half and the middle of the second half of the meet, checking paper and trash in bathrooms, monitoring garbage cans and changing bags as needed, checking with the other team coordinator to ensure they have what they need.

Outside the Meets

Spirit Committee

Organize last-day of school Ice Cream Social, Donuts and Ribbons, and End-of Season awards banquet.

Ribbon Assembly 

The morning after the meet at the pool (during free swim for kids), attach labels onto the appropriate place ribbon and file into swimmers envelope to be given out at the end of free swim.

Only for Parents with Pre-School Aged Children (or younger)

Check-in Desk 

Arrive at meet at 4:30pm, and greet our swimmers and volunteers.  Provide swimmers with their event card and check their name off the list.  For volunteers, remind them of their job, and provide them with any equipment they may need (clipboards, stopwatches, etc..).  Once meet is underway, provide coaches with attendance sheets.
